In a perfect world, 40 Watt Bulb is what all popular music would sound like. Their easy going and capricious tunes, with no shortage of real instruments played by real people in a room, carry a palpable, quirky quality. Sure, they've got a country/bluegrass feel, but you get the idea that any genre would benefit from this much feeling or this much attention to lyric and melody. In short, 40 Watt Bulb's got soul. Move To It, Groove To It - Blind Joe Tomorrow

Blind Joe will once again sling up the old six-string and meet up with friends in low places at the HoDo Lounge tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. You can hear him here, on MySpace, but I also recommend familiarizing yourself with the philosophy of Blind Joe, which can best be summed up by a few lines from his song "It Ain't Country Enough:"
